Eco Club

In today's globalized world, environmental awareness has become essential, serving as a measure of the harm done to nature. It is time to reevaluate our human-centered perspective on the environment. For many years, educators worldwide have recognized the importance of environmental education in promoting responsible environmental behaviours.
The increasing recognition of the need for environmental education over recent years underscores the global necessity to enhance environmental conservation efforts. However, individual and organizational initiatives remain sporadic and insufficient. A recent trend highlights the growing environmental awareness among children, emphasizing that the primary focus of public education should be young people, with educational institutions being the ideal venues for instilling good practices (UNEP, 2014). Young people are believed to be more proactive and compassionate, capable of influencing adults through their actions and ideas. Environmental education can significantly improve health, hygiene, demographic profiles, and productivity, all of which are interconnected with the quality of life. It plays a crucial role in enhancing social opportunities, building skills, and increasing employability, thereby improving overall quality of life. This is why Pandit Raghunath Murmu Smriti Mahavidyalaya has established the Eco Club.
Pandit Raghunath Murmu Smriti Mahavidyalaya Eco Club is a voluntary organization supported by the institution, encouraging student and teacher participation in understanding and improving the environment. The club aims to raise widespread awareness and involve as many people as possible in better understanding the environment. Additionally, the Eco Club provides students and teachers with opportunities to engage with the world beyond the classroom. The Eco Club emphasizes the need to closely observe nature to ensure a greener and safer future. It helps to build attitudes at individuals and social groups, acquire a set of values and feelings of concern for the environment, and the motivation for actively participating in environmental improvement and protection.

Vision

The club will be committed towards raising social awareness regarding environmental issues and changing student’s attitude towards the environment by enlisting their active participation in club’s activities.
