The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a flagship program of the Government of India, launched in 1969, aimed at fostering social responsibility and community engagement among youth. NSS India provides a platform for students and young adults to participate in various social service activities, such as literacy programs, health camps, environmental conservation, and disaster management. With a presence in over 40,000 colleges and universities across the country, NSS India has become a powerful tool for promoting social cohesion, leadership development, and character building. Through its various initiatives, NSS India empowers young people to become active citizens, contributing to the country's socio-economic development and nation-building process. In PRMS Mahavidyalaya National Service Scheme has been started it's journey in the year of 1991. The college was small then, but the NSS has a remarkable position at that time. As a result, the first Programme Officer of the college Prof. Shantimay Khan was also the District Convenor of NSS at that time. Once up on a time we had four NSS Units. After Coveid period some volunteers reduced. And right now we have two units. Dr.Biplab Mondal and Mr. Samiran Dutta are the P.O.s of two different units. There are several activities initiatiated by NSS through out the Year. Dr.Biplab Mondal, attended master trainer Programme by Ministry of Youth affairs & Sports in Delhi last year. We are associated with My Bharat portal. Students of Jungle Mahal works together with their strength and ambition. NSS is the glory of our institution. Here rustic atmosphere and keen to work merged together.
