Women's Cell

About the Cell:

Pandit Raghunath Murmu Smriti Mahavidyalaya has established a Women’s Cell on campus to support women faculty, staff, and students by addressing issues related to women and ensuring a safe environment. The cell aims to raise awareness of women’s rights and duties by organizing and participating in seminars, talks, and addressing women's issues and problems. It provides a platform for women to share their experiences and perspectives on their societal status and suggests ways to improve and empower themselves. Focused on the intellectual and social upliftment of female students, the Women’s Cell of Pandit Raghunath Murmu Smriti Mahavidyalaya promotes women's empowerment through guest lectures, seminars, awareness programs, life skills training, entrepreneurial training, and other welfare activities.

Vision:

To empower women in all spheres of life, helping them become agents of social and economic change while instilling ethical values for personal, familial, and societal betterment. Pandit Raghunath Murmu Smriti Mahavidyalaya aims to create a platform where all women can voice their needs and priorities, where each woman is respected and can reach her potential without facing harm or discrimination.

Mission:

  1. To provide guidelines for protection of women
  2. To provide the environment to ensure basic right to work and study with dignity.
  3. To promote gender equality.
  4. To act as a guidance cum counselling centre for female students and help them overcome various socio-economic and cultural barriers.

Objectives:

  1. To prevent gender discrimination and promote gender equality.
  2. To promote a social, physical and psychological environment that will raise awareness about and deter acts against women.
  3. To undertake gender sensitization programmes within and outside the campus.
  4. To encourage greater participation and to develop responsible and value oriented leadership in women students.
  5. To enhance the self-esteem and self-confidence of women students.
  6. To build a society with social and economic gender equality as envisaged in the Indian Constitution through social service.
  7. To sensitize the P.R.M.S. Mahavidyalaya community on gender equity issues through organizing sensitivity programmes like seminars, publishing handouts etc.
  8. To enable women to make informed choices in areas like education, employment and health especially reproductive health.
  9. To enhance their participation on an equal footing in all areas.
